TRAINING TO FOOD BUSINESS OPERATORS.

                                  
                             The Designated Officer Dr.Thiru.Jagadhish Chandra Bose and the Food Safety Officer Thiru.Mariappan arranged  an awareness meeting to Food Business Operators of Nazreth town in Tuticorin District on 10.01.2012.
                                    Thiru. Eswaran,Food Analyst, Palayamcottai  was invited as a special guest. I was also invited to deliver a guest lecture. The program started at about 3.30 pm.  
                              Thiru.Mariappan, Food Safety Officer welcomed the participants and gave a brief introduction about the birth of the new Food Safety Act. The following Food Safety Officers of Tuticorin District participated in the awareness program:

               Food Business Operators of Nazreth town participated in the program. Dr.Jagadish Chandra Bose explained about the implementation of the new Act.
                I, A.R.Sankaralingam, explained about the licensing provisions in the Act. I also explained about the Registration and Licensing of Food trades, food colours, personal hygiene, Preparation  unit hygiene and safe food.

                            Finally, Food Analyst Thiru.Eswaran explained about the various provisions in the Food Safety Act and Rules. He also explained about the

                                The session ended with the question hour. The FBOs felt free to ask about the doubts they have about the Act and Rules. It is this Act which suggests the implementation to go laterally and not vertically. It has the provisions for IEC activities, corrective measures, improvement notices,food recall and punishment is the last resort for those businessmen who are adamant and rigid against safe food.
