FOOD SAFETY GUEST LECTURE @ NAMAKKAL VETERINARY UNIVERSITY.


GUEST LECTURE ON FOOD SAFETY. VENUE:NAMAKKAL VET. UNIVERSITY
                               I was very much surprised when I received a mail from the Dr.V.V.Kulkarni, Course Director and Professor and Head Department of Meat Science and Technolgy,Veterinary College and Research Institute (TANUVAS), Namakkal, last month. He has invited me to deliver a guest lecture to the summer school students on Food Safety.

I wish to state that a 21 days National level ICAR Summer School on  Opportunities in value addition and challenges in quality control of  meat products including slaughterhouse by – products  is being organized at the Dept. of Meat Science and Technology, VC & RI, Namakkal from 04.07.2012 to 24.7.2012.
          We would be very much obliged to have your acceptance for delivering a guest lecture in the following topic.

MYSELF DELIVERING THE GUEST LECTURE.
                                                     Then I wrote to him to know about the participants. The reply was more shocking. The participants list included Assistant Professors,Associate Professors,and Scientists of Veterinary Universities from different parts of India. He has also requested me to prepare the course material on Food Safety to be included in the compendium. Thanks to the trust that Dr.K.Kulkarni had upon me, I prepared and sent the course material as requested by them. I was waiting for the results like a student.

                                       It gave me all the enthusiasm and on the day of guest lecture, I was able to draw the attention of the those elites to my lecture for about an hour. The session ended with Discussion and Question hour for another 15 minutes. The participants were more enthusiastic and were well acquainted with the new Food Safety Act.It was rather a two way communication than a lecture. Hope they got the required information from me and I am sure that I gained good amount of knowledge and experience from them also.
