ORIENTATION TRAINING FOR FOOD SAFETY OFFICERS.


                        The Commissionerate of Food Safety,Tamilnadu has arranged orientation training for the Food Safety Officers in ten batches. The training for the first batch was inaugurated by the  Commissioner Thiru.KUMAR JAYANT,I.A.S., on 28.01.2013 in the Institute of Public Health, Poonamali at Chennai.

TIME EXTENSION GRANTED BY FSSA.

THIS TIME EXTENSION IS WITH REGARD TO FOOD PRODUCTS STANDARDS AND FOOD ADDITIVES ONLY.

Documents to be enclosed for new application for license to State/Central Licensing Authority
1. Form-B duly completed and signed (in duplicate) by the proprietor/ partner or the authorised signatory 
2. Blueprint/layout plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions in metres/square metres and operation-wise area allocation.

                                     On the New Year eve, Thiru.S.Natarajan, the Chairman of the Port Trust, Tuticorin invited me to give a guest lecture on Food Safety to the staffs of the Port Trust. I accepted his invitation and attended the month end retirement function at the Port Trust campus.

HOW TO ASSIGN REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE NUMBER IN 2013?


    MY DEAR FOOD SAFETY OFFICER FRIENDS:

HOW TO ASSIGN REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE NUMBER IN 2013?

Usually, we assign the number in R.C as below:

2 ** 13 $$$  XXXXXX  

In this           2      means the Registration Certificate.

                  **   denotes the District code.

                   13   denotes the year 2013

                 $$$   denotes the code number of the Food Safety Officer

  XXXXXX   denotes the serial number of the Registration certificate.

                    Most of us have a doubt, whether we should start with the serial number afresh ie from   000001 for the year 2013?

            As per the guidelines issued by the fssai and the Commissioner of Food Safety, Chennai, if you have issued 123 Registration Certificates in the year 2012, you should start assigning the Registration Number to the certificate issued in this year as 2 ** 13 $$$ 000124  We should not start the serial number as 2 ** 13 $$$ 000001.
